Requirements for CAPM Certification
To meet the CAPM requirements you must satisfy certain professional and educational experience requirements. You need a high school diploma or global equivalent as a minimum education and must satisfy one of the following eligibility requirements.
Option 1: Professional Project Management Experience
You must have a secondary education as your educational background. For your project experience you are required to have 1,500 hours of professional experience on a project team to meet CAPM requirements. Document your work on projects if you choose to report 1,500 hours of professional project management experience. Also, document the number of hours applied to the 5 project management process groups, and summarize, by process, your experience on each project.
Option 2: Project Management Educational
You are required to have a secondary education as your educational background and 23 contact hours of formal education as your project management education to meet CAPM requirements, and If you Chose to document 23 contact hours of specific instruction that addressed learning objectives in project management. Regardless of when they were accrued, document all education hours. The course work must be completed at the time of the application.
For CAPM requirements,the course hours may include content on cost, scope, project quality, communications, procurement, time, risk, integration management and human resources.
